Reenactor Registration

There are four events taking place over three days at multiple sites. Each event has its own guidelines and impression restrictions. Please read carefully and register for the appropriate events.

Events

  • Dec 24, 2026—The Skirmish at Johnson’s Ferry(Hessian Jaeger and Patriot Militia ONLY)
  • Dec 25, 2026—Washington’s Crossing(Continental ONLY)
  • Dec 26, 2026—The Battles of Trenton(All impressions)
  • Dec 27, 2026—The Battle of Princeton(British Regulars, Continental, and Patriot Militia ONLY)

Guidelines

The Old Barracks has adopted Washington's Crossings Accuracy Guidelines (See Pennsylvania Guidelines above) for the Battle of Trenton event. We also have the following additions to the guidelines:

Hessian and British regiments should also strive to represent the most accurate depiction of their unit as possible. This includes attention to details of construction, fit, and use (for example, all visible stitches should be done by hand).

  • As a preservation organization dedicated to ensuring the survival of original objects, we strongly discourage the use of original objects during living history programs.
  • Sunglasses (in period-correct frames) are only permitted if medically required. Otherwise, sunglasses (period or modern) are prohibited.
  • If it is cold, modern layers for warmth are acceptable provided they are not visible.
  • Hessian participants are allowed period correct facial hair (mustaches).

Anyone not adhering to these guidelines, will be asked to change or leave. For example, anyone arriving with inaccurate facial hair will be asked to shave (we will happily provide a disposable razor and shaving cream) or will not be permitted to participate and asked to leave the event.

For Princeton Registrants Only (Stipend Information)

N.B. Princeton will continue the tradition of providing a stipend to reenactors participating in this event. The information fields below must be completed in order to process stipends. A check will be mailed to the designee noted on this form in the weeks following the event.

  • Princeton Battlefield Society will provide an honorarium of $25 per reenactor (inclusive of military personnel and followers) to each unit based on actual attendance.
  • Each Artillery unit participating will receive an additional $350 honorarium for bringing and firing a field piece at the event.
  • Each Dragoon unit participating will receive an additional $200 honorarium for every horse brought to and ridden at the event.
